The Bremmer Arms AR-15 (often referred to as the SAR-15) is a UK-manufactured, semi-automatic rifle chambered in .22 LR. Designed in the 1990s, it was originally intended as a training rifle for police and military, mimicking the full-sized 5.56mm AR-15/M16 platform to allow for low-cost practice with standard controls and accessories.
- Manufacturer & Origin: Produced in the UK by Bremmer Arms, a firm that continued production after Parker Hale of Birmingham closed. Later, assets were acquired by Sabre Defence.
- Design & Construction: The rifle was built using standard M16/AR-15 forged/cast receivers, furniture, and hardware to provide an authentic feel.
- Mechanism: It operates as a semi-automatic, with many models featuring a .22LR dedicated barrel and a bolt system based on the US military M261 conversion kit. Later models or upgrades sometimes incorporated CMMG bolt groups for increased reliability.
